Preliminary Design and Conceptual Study
2003 - present
In 2003, Logplan was contracted by Frankfurt International Airport to prepare the preliminary design and conceptual study for the future expansion of the baggage system to a planned Terminal South.
Logplan was also responsible for the evaluation of planning parameters, evaluation of the operational requirements of Inbound-, Transfer- and Outbound baggage, 100% checked baggage screening, connection to the existing baggage handling facilities of Terminals 1 and 2 as well as special requirements for an early bag storage system.
As an additional part of the planning work, a complete evaluation of the system's ability for economical extension of the various system technologies under different utilization- and extension environments was made. Logplan is now involved in the planning phase 0 for Terminal 3 and provides preliminary planning for various building and BHS layouts.
