In order to better serve domestic and international passengers, Incheon International Airport (ICN) is currently undertaking
phase 2 of the expansion of its terminal facilities. The Phase 2 expansion includes the construction of a dual lane shuttle
automated people mover (APM) system named the Intra Airport Transit (IAT) system that will link the Terminal 1 and the new
Concourse A. At the start of revenue operations, the system will be operated in shuttle mode. In future expansion phases,
the system will be operated as a pinched loop.
In 2003, Logplan was contracted to support Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) with the technical evaluation of the bidding documents for the IAT system. During the Design Review phase, Logplan ensured that the supplier design met all technical specification requirements and verified that compliance with applicable national and international codes were maintained.
Logplan is currently involved in the implementation process for this system.
