Greater Rochester International Airport (USA)
2003 - 2004
In January 2003, Logplan was invited by the Greater Rochester International Airport to review preliminary plans which had been developed for the installation of a 100% in-line baggage system. The airport facility is a medium size hub operation with approximately 1.4 million passenger enplanements in 2005. The airport management was not satisfied with the preliminary plans and was not confident that the plans would support the expected growth of the airport.
After analyzing the work previously performed, studying the airport facilities, and reviewing the expected growth at Rochester, Logplan developed an in-line screening system which would fit in the terminal facility and provide for expected growth.
Logplan designed a multi level screening system in which the base layout will allow for presently certified screening equipment and any advancement in new screening technology. By developing a multi level screening system witch provided on screen resolution, the introduction of new technology becomes possible within the base conveyor system without major modification to the system.
