Terminal Planning

Terminal Planning: Frankfurt International Airport Our functional approach to planning for passenger terminals has allowed airports to maximize terminal efficiency, reduce connecting times and maximize passenger throughput.

As we have done for several of our clients, we provide functional planning, analysis, evaluation and optimization of existing and proposed terminal and airport facilities. Through our advanced simulation development techniques, we have the advantage of being able to correctly determine future demands on space and capacity. The simulation coupled with our understanding of passenger flow, airport operations and local security requirements allows us to verify layout concepts, optimize processes and evaluate expected service levels.

Logplan also provides Realization Management services which include the development of functional specifications and startup coordination.

We have used these techniques for most of our airport terminal planning projects which have included Frankfurt International Airport, Denver International Airport and Moscow Vnukovo International Airport. Our services for terminal planning projects include:

  • Concept and layout planning of airport terminal facilities;
  • Passenger flow and layout evaluation;
  • Optimization and planning of passenger processes;
  • Definition and coordination of requirements for new terminal facilities;
  • Review of architectural drawings/layouts;
  • Planning and project management for terminal conversion to accommodate the Airbus A380;
  • Startup coordination;
  • Security area planning and optimization;
  • Evaluation of boarding bridge scenarios;
  • Baggage cart systems operations planning.
